Elder Arrendondo and me with my Christmas gift from the Choraks--missionary action figures!

Hey family!

It was great to hear from you all!  Happy New Years! This New Year’s Eve was just like another day here for us.  We did interchanges and I was with Elder Sorensen from my district.  We went to bed at eleven just like normal.  But Maricel, Nicole and Luis’s mom made us a sweet dinner, so we ate steak and mushrooms in the pension.  It was delicious.  Oh… and Dad, I did take both of the withdrawals out.  The first withdrawal was to send the package and print pictures and get random things that I needed.  The second withdrawal will be for my suit, but I still haven’t bought anything yet.  That should keep me good for another six months or so.

This week was absolutely amazing—so packed full of sweet stories.  The only problem is that I don’t have much time to write.  I spent all of my time writing the President and Joel.  Luis and Nicole are progressing really well.  They both went to church with their mom and are being baptized on the 22nd.  Luis even is saying that he wants to be a missionary—haha.  I’m really excited for the family. We also have been finding a lot of new investigators.  We found another family, of eight!!  The mom is less active but really wants to come back to church and bring her family—Toro Pizarro.  We are way stoked for them.  Elder Arredondo and I have dedicated ourselves to being one hundred percent obedient and diligent; because of this, we have been so blessed this week.  It was full of lessons and new investigators.  It was just all around awesome.

My favorite part of the week was a baptismal interview that I had with an investigator of Elder Sorensen and Elder Fredes.  I went down to Monte Patria to conduct the interview for her baptism.  It was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life.  The room was filled with the spirit.  It was so thick we could have cut it with a knife.  It brought me to tears as I got to know her and understand the sacrifices she has made and the example she has been.  She confessed through tears something that she had done that only she and her mom had known about.  It was amazing to see the atonement of Christ working in her life and the changes that had come about.  I really do love the people of Chile.

There’s a lot more to write but times out.

I love you all,

Elder Teeples
